Thinking about Success

Take a look at the transit & progression for Hilary Clinton back in January 2007:

  • Clinton was going through her 2nd Saturn return
  • SP Moon square Saturn – “advancing ambition”, SP Moon crossing the 7th cusp (public expression) and exactly opposing Mercury, which rules her midheaven (career opportunity)*.

So she tells you that she plans to run for presidency. Being gifted with unusual foresight, you somehow have the sense that she isn’t going to win because of a certain charismatic opponent in Illinois.

What do you tell her? If you know astrology you say:

“Go for it Hilary, this action is going to firm up the direction you’ll be following for the rest of your career – it looks very positive, and I think your ambition will be rewarded with success.”

And you will be right, too. This is a perfectly clear statement for the Saturn return and SP Moon=Saturn.

You say, “but she failed! She didn’t become the president.”

But if she didn’t run, do you think she would have gotten the position of a US secretary of state – a super high profile international work that she describes as both challenging and exciting? Would you call that failing?

I don’t think so. And astrology doesn’t say that either.

Sometimes the only way to fail is to not try something because of a fear of failure.

*Assuming a commonly used 8:00 am birth. SP Moon stands for secondary progressed Moon.

    Hi Hiroki, very apt.
I really enjoyed the example you brought up. It’s important to have a plan and be open to embrace what the universe holds for us :-)

    Thank you Ana Cristina,

I agree, success sometimes differs from getting what we want, but we may end up happier for it too.
