Relative or Absolute? Aligning to cosmic perspective.

Too frequently, our perception of wealth and success is based on comparison: comparison against our neighbor, and against our past.

It doesn’t matter that you’re most likely richer than 90% of the world’s population. If you see your friend or a neighbor with a better car/profession/house, etc. than yours, chances are that you won’t feel wealthy at the moment.

Also, It feels good to make $50,000 a year after you’ve been making $30,000. But if you’ve been making $80,000…? It’s a common human trait that we measure our success in terms of relative perspective (benchmarking.)

In Wall Street it’s called “earnings per share growth,” and companies that earn less than last year are generally branded as failures, no matter how good the company may be doing.

My question: does astrology operate to reflect this relative perspective, or will it operate from a more absolute (cosmic, if you will) perspective? In other words, will Universe care so much about you keeping to collect more and more money and fame, as in “Saturn (or Pluto or Uranus or whatever) is transiting my Angle this Fall…time for the next raise!”?

Somehow, I don’t think so. I think astrology reflects the whole person’s being, and the transits and arcs may reflect your career success so long as it doesn’t compromise your entire psyche too much. But when things get out of order, astrology would show the timing of correction rather than continuation of your current course.

Don’t hate transits or arcs, learn from their effects to see if you’ve been neglecting some parts of yourself. Life may be offering you a course correction, a sort of spiritual chiropractic.
