Happiness Project (9) Sagittarius New Moon: Explore New Territories

Every month, I’m adding new intentions/activities for my happiness project during the new moon. Feel free to play along & set your own new monthly goals!

Sagittarius New Moon occurs on Dec 5, 2010 12:36PM EST

After Scorpio’s deep, intense focus on a chosen area, the psyche is ready to expand again, to seek and explore new horizons.  With the New Moon in Sagittarius, we can ask ourselves: “What area in my life do I feel the need to expand?    What new adventures could I embark on?”

Choose Where You Want to Grow

As we’ve cleaned out the old, dead energies during the Scorpio New Moon month, there now should be more room for growth and receiving new things.  There could literally be fortunate turn of events that will lead you to grow in a new area – an invitation to join a study group that share your passionate interest, an offer to build a new web site for your business, or a life changing seminar.

While being open to such new beginnings, you can also try to step back and look at the big picture: where do you want to be in 5 years from now?  What do you need to start doing now, in order to grow in that direction?  So while a new action is definitely implied by the Sagittarius New Moon, there is a bit of introspection involved as well.

Sample of Areas to Explore

  • Consider taking a short study course on something that you’re interested in, perhaps related to your business or a hobby.  I’ve recently made a commitment to take an online course on blogging following Donna Cunningham’s advice.  I’m looking forward to powering up this blog through this study!
  • Another strongly Sagittarian area is that of athleticism – this could mean starting a new exercise routine that seems fun, or joining a local sports group.
  • Lastly, the area involving the higher mind is also under Sagittarius’ domain: spiritual studies and practices such as meditation may become more meaningful during this time.

Many Possibilities for Growth

Approach this New Moon period like an explorer facing a whole new territory.  What new area do you wand to explore? How do you plan to grow in the direction of your dreams?  Feel free to share your thoughts & plans via emails or comments!

I am totally in tune with this reading! I've recently decided to embrace a new vegan lifestyle, I've begun re-applying for college courses so that I can finally get started on the path to becoming a teacher, I've also started experimenting with meditation and self-hypnosis, AND I've begun a new exercise regiment to supplement the effects of my new diet. Wonderfully uncanny!

I'm open for whatever fortunate events might come my way, but until then I have decided to plant the seed of increasing my regular daily meditation routing from one to three times per day on a consistent basic. Pretty much a Sagittarian endeavour. :)

PB: You're inspiring me to try for the same!

  5. Hi,
what a fantastic blog. I've discovered it couple of days ago and i've had fun reading previous posts.
Sag new moon – where do I start?
I've started planning my practice activities for 2011 – visualisation and goal setting took most of my day yesterday.
I have written material for a workshop on new year's resolutions and i will spend time today on promotion and finding the venue for running it.
I've started meditating once a day and I hope I can continue with the practice indefinitely. New exercise regime – I've been battling with an injured left foot for several months which has prevented me from doing my favourite zumba classes however I am not giving up and am back at gym for cycling and weight bearing exercises.
    Loving it!
